![]() ![]() It's not nearly as complicated as Bayonetta, but it's a good level where you really can style on enemies and feel a sense of mastery nonetheless. It's got most of the standard Platinum Games tools: dodge offset, powerful combo finishers (in this case vehicle attacks), instant weapon switching, etc. The core of the game, the combat, is great. There are highways for you to race along in your car mode, even! The level design is largely pretty simple, with you walking between corridors to combat arenas, although there is a bit of an open world city in some levels that's kind of fun and really does make you feel like a gigantic robot. In many ways this is exactly what you expect from Platinum Games, a high intensity, skill based character action game. ![]() And luckily it received a physical release so that despite being delisted on every digital store front you can still play it today! The other two (a Korra game and a TMNT game) aren't remembered fondly, but people speak highly if Transformers Devastation to this day. Transformers Devastation was a licensed Transformers game made by action game masters Platinum as part of a trio of licenses games they made with Activision. Ah, the perils of digital distribution for licensed games. ![]()
